The query continues as to whether or not Iron Man will once again star in his stand alone film, Iron Man 4. Financial issues have been pointed out to be the reason why the film might not appear in theaters soon. Although it has not been confirmed yet, fans might have to wait for the Marvel Phase 3 to be finished, and might also be having a younger Iron Man in the upcoming installment.
Ever since Iron Man debuted into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he has become a popular icon much loved by the fans. Most recent installments of Iron Man standalone films have proven to be box office hits with Iron Man 3 grossing $1.22 billion.
With the popularity earned by the character, reports suggest that actor Robert Downey Jr might asked for a higher talent fee for Iron Man 4. Robert Downey Jr was dubbed as the highest grossing actor in both 2013 and 2014 wherein he earned $75 million dollars each for both years. No reports have been released yet as to Iron Man 4's fate, although Robert Downey Jr previously announced that Iron Man 4 might no longer happen.
But if ever it does come into reality, fans of the billionaire hero might have to wait a bit longer as it might reportedly not be released until Marvel's phase 3 is finished. Aside from that, RDJ might be replaced by a much younger actor, Ty Simpkins who held a big role in Iron Man 3. When RDJ was asked about the possibility that Simpkins might take over his role.
"I like that the idea is that it would be up to me, like I'm casting director for Marvel," the actor said.
Iron Man 4 might still be a long wait before it hits theaters if ever Marvel decides to push the project through. However, Iron Man fans still have the chance to catch their beloved hero on the big screen in Captain America: Civil War which is set to hit theaters in May 06, 2016.
