Until Dawn 2-12 Multiplayer Rumor Officially Debunked; SCEE Representative Confirms Supermassive Games Horror Title Remains as Single Player

By

Until Dawn received a good amount of hype when there has been news that the horror survival title will be supporting a multiplayer mode. Moreover, this will be no ordinary type of gameplay as up to 12 players are going to be supported. The thing, however, is that this claim was recently debunked, just several hours after it came about.

It should be noted by gamers looking forward for Until Dawn that it will remain as a single player type of game. With the butterfly-effect mechanism of the game, it will be difficult to manage the story if there are many people deciding. The rumor that 2-12 users will be supported in the Supermassive Games title came about in Asia's PlayStation listing.

Fortunately, the hype was quickly appeased and corrected as a representative from SCEE confirmed that this online feature was a mistake. This was reported in VideoGamer, with the emphasis that Until Dawn will only be a single-player journey for the brave user. After all, trying to stay alive in the game will be more challenging and intense if it would be done alone.

One of the exciting things that Until Dawn will bring to players would be the butterfly effect system of the game. This will lead to a more unique formation of the story as the user gets deeper into making his choices. The developer, Supermassive Games, notes that there would be hundreds of narratives to branch into depending on which paths would be taken.

After a long road in development, Until Dawn will officially be released for the PlayStation 4 in August 25 of this year. Those who pre-order will receive a bonus chapter spanning 25 minutes where Emily and Matt are treading a snow-filled mountain trail. For more fresh information on this game, be sure to keep a lookout for the next update.
