Avril Lavigne has recently posted in her Instagram account a poster of her after her recent live guesting in ABC's "Good Morning America". The Lyme disease survivor has hinted to perform in the Special Olympics. This will be the first time that Avril will perform live after her treatment.
As she recovered from her illness, she posted a photo update on her social media accounts about performing in the Special Olympics for her song from the album FLY. The photo shows her sitting down with a guitar on her lap and angel wings on the background. The words posted were "20 days until special Olympics." This update can be seen in her Facebook (53 million likes), Instagram (1.5 million likes) and Twitter (19.1 million followers) accounts.
Special Olympics is a movement which was founded in 1968. Its main goal is "to create a better world by fostering the acceptance and inclusion of all people."
The Special Olympics is Avril Lavign's first special live performance after recovering from Lyme disease. Her social media accounts show her poster of her soon to be performance in the said event. Her poster simply shows her photo with a guitar and a countdown saying 20 days to go.
On a different note, it was just so very recent that 30 year old Avril Lavigne shared for the first time in a live interview about her health struggles with Lyme disease. She said in "Good Morning America" about a week ago that the tick-borne sickness had her confined to bed for several months and was frantic to find proper treatment. She finally found a Lyme disease specialist and was prescribed the right diagnosis. Not after enduring a series of tests under numerous doctors. She described the experience as "the worst time in my life."
Avril recounted her grueling experience during her interview with ABC's "Good Morning America." She experienced night sweats describing it as "like I had the flu" in October 2014. It was an on and off occurrence until two months after she figured it out herself and went to seek a specialist. Fans have played a great part in her recovery. "I honestly felt very loved," she said as she watched videos of them encouraging her to stay strong. A 100% recovery is possible for her and encourages those that are suffering the same condition assuring them that they can get better.
Avril Lavigne continues to inspire others who are going through rough times with the diseases that they are struggling with. Lavigne says there is a cure to Lyme disease.
