The cast of Antoine Fuqua's samurai film "The Magnificent Seven" continues to grow today as another actor has boarded the project recently. David Kallaway has officially joined the cast of Metro-Goldwyn-Meyer's remake of the 1960 John Sturges Classic. The upcoming film is slated to hit the big screen on January 2017.
David Kallaway now joins Denzel Washington (who, according to Coming Soon, took home an Oscar for Fuqua's "Training Day"), Chris Pratt ("Guardians of the Galaxy", "Jurassic World"), Haley Bennett (" The Equalizer" "Music and Lyrics"), Ethan Hawke ("Boyhood", "Predestination"), Wagner Moura ("Elite Squad", "Elysium"), Jason Momoa ("Aquaman", "Game of Thrones") , Byung-hun Lee ("G.I. Joe: Retaliation", "Red 2"), Vincent D'Onofrio ("Marvel's Daredevil", "Jurassic World"), and the recently cast "White Collar" and "Magic Mike" actor, Matt Bomer.
The rest of the details regarding the role of the actor are still kept under the wraps but AV Club predicts that he might be given a small role for the forthcoming crime flick. The site has noted that on his IMDb page, majority of the roles he portrayed were minor ones with names like "Militia Man," "Taliban Soldier," "Man #5," "Cop 2," and so on. Compared to his A-list co-actors, it seems likely that the studio will choose to kill his character first.
As per Ace Showbiz's report, the upcoming of "The Magnificent Seven" is a remake of the classic 1960 Western film helmed by John Sturges, which starred Yul Brynner, Steve McQueen, Charles Bronson, Robert Vaughn, James Coburn and Eli Wallach. It was reportedly influenced by Akira Kurosawa's 1954 samurai flick, "Seven Samurai". Kallaway's upcoming film follows the story of a woman who hires a disparate group of gunslingers to protect her town from raging bandits.
The principal photography has commenced just last May in the north of Baton Rouge, Louisiana and is slated to end in August. Helmed by Anton Fuqua, "The Magnificent Seven" is scheduled to premiere in Janurary 13, 2017.
