The badass heroine Captain Marvel will soon be entering the world of the MCU. But even though its release is happening until 2018, rumors continue to swirl about who might be playing the titular role. Kevin Feige, on the other hand, has revealed that an announcement will be made soon about the film's director.

Many different names have been linked to the character of Captain Marvel, and the newest addition to the list is Jurassic World star Bryce Dallas Howard who openly revealed her interest in playing the role.

In an interview, it was suggested to Howard that she seems to be a good fit for the role, to which she reacted saying, "Oh my God, will you write that? Will you write that please? Yes, let's start a campaign now. That would be rad."

She later went on to explain how much she liked the MCU saying, "Those movies are so fantastic, because talk about just these incredibly drawn characters! That's the joy of the comics, is that you fall in love with these characters and it's who they are that carries you from journey to journey to journey... it's not just about set pieces. It's really about who these people are, and so, yes, I just would love to be in a Marvel film," Howard said.

Other personalities previously attached to the role of Captain Marvel include Emily Blunt and Charlize Theron.

Meanwhile, Marvel President Kevin Feige recently revealed that they are now considering many different directors for the film. He also admitted that they previously met with Ava DuVernay for the movie Black Panther, although, his statement is far from any confirmation yet.

It is worth noting that DuVernay was previously rumored to direct Captain Marvel, although another named who is said to direct the film is that of award-winning actress, Angelina Jolie. Feige went on saying that an announcement regarding the film's director will be made soon.

More details are expected to be revealed in the coming months. Captain Marvel will be based from the comic book by Gene Colan and Roy Thomas, while its screenplay will be by Meg LeFauve and Nicole Perlman. It has been slated to hit theaters in November 2, 2018.
