'The Returned' was not too fortunate to make a comeback for season 2 in A&E due to its low ratings. Recent reports reveal that the show possible return could happen in Netflix. But as of today, no words from the internet streaming giant have been released.
After 'The Returned' just finished its first season, A&E decided not to renew it for season 2 as the show failed to draw a large number of audiences.
According to Variety, A&E did not renew 'The Returned' in part, because the first three days of DVR viewing averaged 1.8 million viewers and a 0.7 rating among viewers under the age of 50. In comparison, A&E's "Bates Motel" garnered 3 million viewers overall and a 1.3 rating from viewers between the ages of 18 and 45. Thus, A&E chose to order two more seasons of 'Bates Motel' than the 'The Returned'.
In a recent report, Netflix already had a deal with FremantleMedia International regarding the launch of 'The Returned' as a Netflix original. However, there has been no announcement regarding this yet. If and when the streaming network will pick up the show, there is already a possible plot for the second season of "The Returned" since season 1 left a lot of unanswered questions.
Latest reports reveal that the French version's season two is expected to premiere later this year. Subtitles and English-language versions will be available.
LatinPost reports that the storyline of 'The Returned' French version Season 2 is set six months after the conclusion of the first run. The new episodes feature Adele's giving birth to Simon's child, while Lena and her father Jerome search desperately for Claire and Camille. A stranger named Berg comes to town, and he knows more than he claims. Also, lots of resurrections are about to take place.
The season 1 of original French version or originally known as 'Les Revenants' is already available in Netflix. Unlike A&E's 'The Returned', the former won an International Emmy in 2013 for Best Drama Series.
Is the English version of 'The Returned' may also be picked by Netflix? If they will, will be redundant to do that?
