Prince Charming is Cinderella’s love interest; Disney's New Live-Action Movie will be a comedy

By

The Prince in the classic tale Cinderella will be the leading man referred to in the upcoming Disney movie "Prince Charming". The live-action movie is expected to be heavy on comedy.

CINDERELLA'S PRINCE

Most Disney-adapted movies always have a Prince Charming. However, in the same titular movie, the Prince will no longer just be a supporting role for the princess but a main character. Breath Cast confirms that the Prince of Cinderella is the one referred to as "Prince Charming". It could also be coincidental or on purpose that the Prince played by Richard Madden in the recent movie "Cinderella" is also in talks to portray the titular role of "Prince Charming".

PLOT

Slashfilm says "Prince Charming" is described as a "revisionist retelling" which means that the Prince's brother will actually be the center of the story as it will be told from his point of view. Prince Charming's brother is not given much attention within the royal family for not having lived up to his family's expectations. There is no information yet though on who will portray Madden's brother.

Meanwhile, Disney studio has chosen Matt Fogel to write the script for the movie. Fogel used to be an assistant to directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller for "Cloudy and a chance of Meatballs". He also did an initial draft for "Bob: The Musical" which is currently in the works under Disney.

Christian Today reports that "Prince Charming" was actually offered to several studios but got sold to Disney just recently with the aim of making it another success just like Disney-adapted movies that hit the box office. Mandeville Films/TV will produce "Prince Charming".

"Prince Charming", said to be told from the perspective of the Prince's brother, could be something new fairy tale fans could watch out for. Just the fact that the Prince will be the main character in the live-action movie is already something exciting to look forward to.
