Assassin's Creed Movie Cast News: Ariane Labed, Michael Williams on board; Director reveals film adaptation will 'differ from game but the same'

The list of cast members for the much anticipated Assassin's Creed movie is gradually being filled in. Ariane Labed and actor Michael K. Williams are officially on board as the film is scheduled to start filming in September.

Before Midnight actress Ariane Labed and The Wire star Michael K. Williams are the newest addition to the cast of the movie adaptation of the famous video game Assassin's Creed. No details have been revealed yet as to the role that Labed and Williams will play although reports suggest that Labed might be playing the role that was once offered to Ex Machina star, Alicia Vikander. As for Williams, no specific name has been given although he is said to be playing a major role in the franchise.

Labed and Williams are set to star alongside Michael Fassbender and Marion Cotillard.

Meanwhile, although not much has been revealed about the film's plot, it is reported to center on Desmond Miles who will be abducted by a secret organization, who will make him repeatedly travel back in time where is set to retrieve an ancient artifact using the body of one of his ancestors.

The film's director Justin Kurzel however, hinted that the film will be "different from the game, but the same". Even Fassbender who is set to play the role of Desmond Miles has kept his silence about the movie, although, he did hint that fans should not always believe the rumors what they read. "Don't listen to what they tell you, that's the first rule," Fassbender teased.

Filming for the movie is scheduled to commence in September when all crew and cast members are expected to be on set.

Assassin's Creed is set to be directed by Justin Kurzel with screenplay by Bill Collage, Adam Cooper, and Michael Lesslie. It is set to hit theaters in December 21, 2016.
