Marvel Studio's Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), the highest-grossing film franchise of all time, is prepping for a back-to-back installation of its newest films "Avengers: Infinity War" Part One and Part Two set for release on May 4, 2018 and May 3, 2019 respectively. Possible villains have also been revealed in new updates.
Fans scrambled to get more inside scoop on possible new castings, developments and plotlines ever since Avenger: Infinity War One's juicy teaser trailer exploded in screens around the world. According to i09.com, Marvel released the announcement trailer during their press day. Although, obviously, this wasn't the official trailer for the movies yet.
According to Marvel.com, filming for both movies begins in the later part of 2016 under the direction of Joe and Anthony Russo who also directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier. The best part of it all is that visual junkies can expect a new heightened cinematic experience for the two-part installment as it will be shot entirely using IMAX and ARRI's revolutionary 2D digital camera. This is a first in Hollywood to exploit new technology.
In the article, the Russo brothers said, "The intent with the Infinity War films is to bring 10 years of accumulative storytelling to an incredible climax. We felt that the best way to exploit the scale and scope required to close out the final chapter of these three phases, was to be the first films shot entirely on the IMAX/Arri Digital camera."
If you've been fastidiously following the MCU franchise from the original Iron Man film up to the recent Avengers: Age of Ultron and Ant-Man, you know Marvel's been cuing you in on what Infinity War's possible plotline would revolve around. In the teaser trailer and similar previews, it was revealed that the galactic overlord Thanos will be a major antagonist and that the story will unfold over the powerful Infinity Gauntlet and the Infinity Stones which includes the Tesseract, Loki's Scepter and the Orb. Thanos, however, will not be the only mad villain the Avengers would be fighting against.
According to an update by Cinemablend.com, their source noted that a second evil menace will be joining Thanos. The Magus, pulled out from the comic books, may not actually appear in the movie but will use the Infinity Gauntlet to recreate an evil universe with dopplegangers of the superheroes. It is still a rumor though along with talk of other villains possibly involved in the film.
The Avengers; Infinity War Two-Part Installment that will be filmed with brand new technology will premier in theaters worldwide in the coming years. Part one is set for release on May 4, 2018 and part two on May 3, 2019. There is still plenty of time for updates on possible cast additions for protagonists and villains as well as plotlines. For now, one thing's for certain, loyal fans are in for a wild ride.
