It's been only two weeks since the finale of "Penny Dreadful" season 2 aired on Showtime but major details and speculations about its third season have already been circulating online. Showrunner John Logan reveals that there will be changes next season specifically with the setting and even dishes on the possible romance between Vanessa and Ethan.
"Penny Dreadful" is already gearing up for their third season which will be quite different from the previous two. Creator and executive producer John Logan confirms that there will be a "real change of pace" in season three, which will allow them to explore other places, reports Ecumenical News.
"We can get out of the alleys and cobblestone bars of Victorian London and see a bit more of the world," says Logan. He then added, "Essentially there's a pull bringing these characters together and it's supernatural, partly romantic, partly shared destiny."
Aside from crossing the borders of Victorian London, Logan also teased the fans about possible romance between Eva Green's Vanessa and Josh Hartnett's Ethan. According to Vine Report, the showrunner remains optimistic towards that angle as the two characters are both in the same wavelength.
Logan said, "They're fascinating characters for me, and they're both in a very dark and desolate place and have been for a long time."
Adds the creator, "And the idea of two characters in need coming together and trying to find some grace or some lightness in the various curses that surround them was obviously very interesting."
Showtime gave the Eva Green-starred show a renewal even before the third season ended, as per Screen Rant's report. Throughout its 2-season run, the series was able to draw a solid fanbase and positive reviews from the critics.
"Penny Dreadful" season 3 will be able to explore the world according to showrunner John Logan as some changes in its pace will happen. Fans shipping Vanessa and Ethan will be thrilled since there's still hope for their romance next season, which will drop next year on Showtime.
