The bold and fluffy projectile avians shall once again hit the fans' tablets, mobile phones, and computers as game developer Rovio finally announces Angry Birds 2, a sequel to the phenomenal game, Angry Birds. Through a recently unveiled teaser-poster, Rovio promised a "Bigger, Badder, and Birdier" experience for the strategic game.
According to an IGN report, the prequel Angry Birds made a big hit which spawned numerous licenses for crossovers and variations, some of which adapt the themes of players' favourite movies. The game also hit the market from licensed products ranging from plush toys, shirts, and school supplies. However, Rovio saw the game's profits drop by 73% in 2014 for which they hope that the sequel Angry Birds 2 will once again hit both the screens and licensed products and revive the company's yields.
Character designs of fans' favourite aerial heroes were a bit modified, but mostly retained the iconic, round-shaped birds with robust, battle-ready faces. Touch Arcade reports that despite the modification, character features depict more of the looks from the previous game rather than the anthropomorphic appearances in the film.
On the other hand, Mashable opined that despite the decline in fan interest after successfully releasing 15 game titles within its five years in the big hit, millions of fans still await every game updates from time to time. Fans have been eagerly waiting for the game sequel's release, hoping it features a classic gameplay. At present, it is believed that the game had its exclusive beta release in Canada entitled Angry Birds: Under Pigstruction, and would eventually be released as the Angry Birds 2. Players who have tested the game reports that a so-called "Arena" will be unlocked after level 25 which enables players around the world to compete in a daily tournament, advancing themselves in a special level with a seemingly never ending stages.
Rovio's Angry Birds 2, tagged to be "Bigger, Badder and Birdier", will be having further announcements regarding possible release dates and game details on July 28, 2015 in San Francisco. The game is slated for a July 30 worldwide release.
