Wayward Pines Episode 9, which aired last July 16, finally showed the fans and viewers of the series just how much the town founder David Pilcher is hiding from the residents of Wayward Pines. In addition, the series protagonist Ethan Burke finally gets his hands on the truth through Kate Hewson by staging a fake reckoning.
TVLine discussed how the episode started out with Pilcher calling for a reckoning as Ethan presents him with a list of the names of people to be executed. Unfortunately for the scientist, the people scheduled for the reckoning have removed their tracking chips. Jason then goes to where some of the resistance members are detained. He releases them including Kate and her husband Harold Ballinger. Jason executes the resistance members along with Harold and was about to kill Kate as well until Ethan arrives, killing Jason and rescuing Kate.
Kate and Ethan's reunion prompts the latter to bring Kate to the reckoning where she reveals the various secrets of Wayward Pines. Theresa, however, is quick to silence her after which Pilcher shuts off the power in the town therefore also deactivating the electric fences which protect the town from the abbies.
For the upcoming season finale, CaterMatt reveals the various speculations regarding Pilcher's acts and whether or not he plans on destroying the very town he founded. However, the promotional teaser for the season finale showcases that Wayward Pines Episode 10 Spoilers will be more of a survival episode in which Ethan and Kate are out to ensure the safety of the town's residents while Pam tries talking Pilcher out of his plans. The episode will also be showing us how the first generation will be making an attempt to save the town thus securing the future of Wayward Pines.
For those who are on the edge of their seat, the wait will be over soon as Wayward Pines episode 10 will air on July 23. The episode, entitled 'Cycle', will be directed by Nimrod Antal who gained popularity after directing the movies Vacancy (2007) and Predators (2010).
