While Apple and Samsung are battling it out in the US high-end segment of the smartphone wars, HTC is going competitively low-profile with their new product releases... which is a very smart move for HTC.
Taiwanese tech giant HTC recently released 4 version of its Desire smartphone series in the United States, July 15. This is part of their extensive campaign to expand their product line in the low-end segment of the smartphone market.
This quartet of the HTC Desire smartphone series is composed of HTC Desire 626, Desire 626s, Desire 526 and Desire 520.
All of these HTC Desires feature an entry-level Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 chipset with 1.1GHz quad-core CPU, a remarkable 4G LTE connectivity technology, Android 5.1 and 2000 mAh (7.6Wh). Also, these smartphones support MicroSDXC up to 2TB for external storage. HTC Desire 626 leads the pack when it comes to valuable features and affordability while the HTC Desire 520 is the most affordable device in the group.
Meanwhile, Techgadget360 reported that the HTC Desire 626 will be primarily distributed for AT&T and Verizon postpaid while HTC Desire 626s will be for multiple pre-paid carriers.
The difference between the two? Gsmarena.com says Desire 626s is a slightly less capable version of the Desire 626 with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of expandable memory and 2MP front-camera unit. However, these two phones boots Android Lollipop with HTC Sense 7 UI and the popular HTC app, BlinkFeed
Anandtech.com reported these HTC Desire series devices will be available in a variety of colors from both of its prepaid and postpaid US carriers. Aside from AT&T and Verizon, the following carriers will provide these HTC Desire units for their customers --- Boost Mobile, Cricket, MetroPCS, Sprint, T-Mobile, Tracfone, and Virgin Mobile USA. Moreover, models and unit's colors will be agreed upon by these service providers starting third week of July, and these HTC Desires will be available in the coming months.
