Sony has confirmed its changes on the upcoming Android 5.1.1. for models Xperia Z2 and Z3 series devices. The Japan company expects to release the updated software late in July 2015.
Boasting to include additional Wi-Fi and Bluetooth options, the update will allow a new look to certain icons in the main menu and notifications setting. Sony Xperia mobiles, running with Android KitKat software, will observe the exceeding changes on this upcoming software. New features and improvement may already be available since the Android 5.0.2 Lollipop are running in previous Xperia models.
Aside from technical changes, Sony has promised to improve its features with under-the-hood improvements and new animations to add an interactive setting. According to TeamAndroid, the Sony Xperia smartphones will be generating updates boasting slightly new navigational features. Multi-tasking menus and display notifications are redesigned for a more practical design.
Markets globally update their firmware from time to time but unlike Japan it generally updates late. In confirmation, Sony is trying to speed up the updates in their models. Android Geeks reported of the shortlist models that will be resurfacing with the updated Android 5.1.1 firmware. Certified Xperia devices on the remake firmware are the following: Xperia Z3 Compact, Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact, Xperia Z2, Xperia Z2 Tablet, Xperia Z3 Dual, and Xperia Z3.
Meanwhile in Sweden, users of Xperia Z3 were invited by Sony to test the company's new Android model software. The running group test was initiated for July 27th until September 13th. According to Analog Index, Sony is working on a fresh, new look for its own bespoke Android UI and is looking for feedbacks and statistics from Sony users.
The trial was recommended for users to initially require complete reboot of their phones' personal settings, data and content. Registration and sign-ups were prescribed within the trials' limited offer. Only Xperia Z3 owners with Windows PCs in Sweden are allowed to sign up.
New directions will be on the way as Sony Xperia smartphones will be unveiling updated software. Official release date hasn't yet been confirmed, soon enough it will be announced.
