Street Fighter V was glad to announce at the recent EVO 2015 Championship Series event in Las Vegas that four all-new fighting characters are set to join the roster of classic contenders of the game.
Capcom rep Matt Dahlgren spilled the beans that 16 fighters have completed the game's list of fighters including four fresh starters and 12 original characters. According to a report, 8 characters from the previous installment will return and four from the original story will make a huge comeback.
"We feel that's a good balance for a very diverse roster, but not being too overwhelming for new players to hop into the game," Dahlgren noted.
Necalli is the latest revelation of Street Fighter V, the character who is said to be reminiscent to brutal classic character Blanka. Necalli has been described as a vicious tribal combatant. His V-Trigger capability alters his appearance, especially his hair makes a glaring bright red tint.
Although Necalli brought the community into mixed reactions after the trailer first came out, Dahlgren is optimistic that fans will enjoy the new character for his excellent ability.
Renowned Street Fighters who are slated for a retort include R. Mika, Alex, Karin Kanzuki and Urien. Of the 8 returnees, pinch-hitters are Dhalsim, Juri and Zangief. However, Capcom remains to be silent regarding this comeback rumor of the characters.
Aside from all-new characters joining the street match, Dahlgren told IGN that Street Fighter V will have more costumes to choose from than the previous installment.
Meanwhile, Capcom also revealed that the new characters and skins are earnable through in-game currencies, the Fight Money and Zenny. Both currencies can be used to unlock new gameplay DLC content. For the record, Zenny can only be attained by real money.
Capcom has announced that various updates for Street Fighter will be made available free of charge.
Street Fighter V's beta game on PC still reveal characters Ryu, Chun-Li, Nash, M. Bison, Cammie, Birdie, and Ken.
Street Fighter V is coming out March 2016 on PlayStation 4 and PC.
