Jerald, who played Captain Victoria Gates in the series, was not tapped to return for another season, which saddened fans and even Katic.
"She's a wonderful actress & gr8 human.Looking forward to our next time 2gether", Stana Katic tweeted with a broken heart emoji.
It took Stana Katic quite some time before she confirmed her return for "Castle" season 5, which sparked speculations that the actress will be leaving the show. That's why fans celebrated when she announced that she is still very much attached to the show.
We previously reported that online predictions about season 5's plot include the possibility of Richard Castle, played by Nathan Fillion, and Kate Beckett becoming parents in the new season.
Carter Matt on the other hand speculates that there might be new faces in "Castle" season 5 while also wishes that Jon Huertas and Seamus Dever will each have an episode that focuses on their characters.
Stan Katic expressed her excitement over the new season but also admits that she was saddened by Penny Johnson Jerald's exit from the show. There are so many exciting things on "Castle" season 5 though, that makes it hard for fans to wait for two more months before the ABC police procedural premieres.
