Prometheus 2 is in the works and is rumored to hit theaters soon. While official announcements have yet to be made, rumors have swirled that the movie might be released in 2017. Aside from that, speculations also indicate that filming for the movie might start in the later months of this year.
Fans are now eagerly anticipating for the upcoming Prometheus 2 following the first film's successful release in 2012. The sequel to the famous alien movie will reportedly not overlap with other alien movies that are also in the works as the film's Ridley Scott, Alien 5's Neill Blomkamp, and Predators' Nimrod Antal reportedly talked everything over and made sure that their stories will not be stepping on each other.
Noomi Rapace's Dr. Elizabeth Shaw and Michael Fassbender's David are also said to be back in the sequel as they go on a mission to find out more about the Engineers' creators. But eventhough they are set for a bigger adventure, they will only reportedly be one of the three plot acts prepared for the movie.
While xenomorphs might no longer be back in the film, reports suggest that 2 new types of aliens will be featured in the movie which will also somehow bare resemblance with the extra terrestrial creature.
The movie is said to be released in March 2017 after a source, by the name of Big Dave, revealed in the Prometheus Forum that the movie is heading for a March-May release.
In addition, principal photography is also said to be begin in November while main shooting is said to be happening in March 2016. The said source also reportedly revealed that the film will require a bigger budget as it will have 50% addition compared to the budget of the first film. Prometheus' previous budget was somewhere between $120 to 130 million.
Although these alleged new details on Prometheus 2 release might sound plausible, it is also important to note that no confirmations have been made yet. More details about the movie are expected to be released in the coming months.
