As game developer Blizzard Entertainment recently unveiled two newest heroes, Johanna the Crusader and The Butcher, the anticipation for the third hero is over, for he is none other than Leoric, The Skeleton King from Diablo 3, as Game Director Dustin Browder would have promised to have the game Diablo-themed.
The Diablo-blended Heroes of the Storm: Eternal Conflict features Leoric, The Skeleton King to be one of its champions. Gaming Bolt recently released The Skeleton King's skills, background story, and his relation to the Nexus conflict in a trailer video. Leoric is familiar to those who have played Diablo 3 as one of the first major boss characters to battle. His special abilities include Drain Hope, Wraith Walk, and Entomb. Drain Hope enables The Skeleton King to leech his foes' health while healing his own, while Wraith Walk is the ability in which Leoric could project his astral form out of his corporal being and teleport instantly to enemies and have them slain in a close combat. Entomb, on the other hand, is a useful restraining ability as it traps enemies in a small perimeter and exploit their limited ability to be slaughtered.
For Polygon, adding Leoric as one of the online brawler game's champion is a powerful new addition to the game. That is, aside from his three impressive abilities, he also has a defining trait called Undying. With the trait, Leoric may be able to be playable even after dying. Through his ghost form, he may still be able to assist allies and harass enemies until he is resurrected to his physical form. Through his Skeletal Swing, he is able to cause heavy damage towards his enemies while slowing them down in effect.
Though PCGamesN opined that King Leoric may have been some players' "punching bag" in Diablo, it stated: "...yesterday's ineffectual boss is today's MOBA champion", pointing out The Skeleton King's exceptional abilities. Nevertheless, lots of gamers await to play as Leoric for the team strength which his skills may bring upon.
Blizzard Entertainment will be streaming with Brawl with the Blues on July 22. Heroes of the Storm: Eternal Conflict's Leoric, The Skeleton King shall be unleashed to the servers on the evening of July 21 for North America and July 22 for Europe.
