FIFA President Sepp Blatter Disgraced At Zurich Press Conference: Simon Brodkin a.k.a Lee Nelson Charged For Trespassing

FIFA president Sepp Blatter was disgraced sensationally when a bundle of fake banknotes were thrown over him by comedian Lee Nelson. The Englishman whose real name is Simon Brodkin gatecrashed and interrupted Blatter's press conference in Zurich on Tuesday. Brodkin is charged with trespassing by Swiss authorities.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter have resigned earlier this year and later announced that he would not stand for another term as FIFA president in the new elections. He was shamed when comedian - whose comedy creations include footballer Jason Bent and Lee Nelson - calmly walked up to Blatter's position behind a table at the front of the stage and placed a wad of pretend US dollars on the table, saying: 'This is for North Korea 2026'.

Blatter was speaking at the FIFA executive committee meeting, which had been called to set the date for the extraordinary elective congress, which has now been confirmed as 26 February next year.

He then turned to address the press while Blatter waved urgently at security guards to take him away. They duly arrived either side of Brodkin. But, before they could remove him he threw a huge bundle of notes into the air, which rained down around the out-going president of football's governing body.

Brodkin, 38, was arrested by police in Zurich but released after questioning.

"He (Brodkin) will be charged for trespassing because he wasn't allowed to enter the building," a police spokesman said. "If there will be a trial it is still to be decided by the prosecutor. Trespassing in Switzerland is just prosecuted by request like other minor crimes," he added.

It's not the first time Brodkin made the news this summer. Last month he jumped on stage with hip hop artist Kanye West at Glastonbury festival. Last year, he attempted to board the England World Cup plane and mingled with the players while posing as the fictional 'Jason Bent'.
