It has been over five years since the announcement of the proposed and highly anticipated game came out. With all the expansions that emerged from both ends of Capcom and Bandai Namco, fans nearly lost hope of even the idea of the game.

In an interview seen on Vine Report, the game director was quoted "It might seem like we haven't started on it at all, but the character lineup has been decided upon since a very long time ago, and we've already finished the polygon models, moves, and systems." Harada also declared that the rumor of the game being cancelled is not true, and as a matter of fact, they have gone far from the starting point.
Other games that Harada has been busy with include Tekken 7, Pokémon Company's Pokkén Tournament, and Summer Lesson. He also said that while they are already working on the game, they have not yet decided on the release date.
