Latest 'Orange Is The New Black' (OITNB) season 4 update reveal that the relationship between prison counselor Healy and inmate Red will have a surprising development in the upcoming season. Kate Mulgrew, who plays Red, and Michael Harney, who plays Healy, had shared their thoughts about their characters and how their relationship goes.
'OITNB' is not alien to giving fans amazing surprises every season. The previous season has taken fans aback when it featured backstories of various characters and some melodrama episodes, which was something new for the Netflix series.
One of the surprising developments in season 3 was the relationship between Sam Healy and Red. After Healy decided to work things with Red and moved on from his wife during the previous season, the two will share more onscreen moments together in Orange is The New Black Season 4, according to Vine Report.
It was also told that many fans are hoping to see their relationship go further. Even actor Michael Harney himself, who plays Healy, wants his character to work closely with Red. In an interview with International Business Times, the actor said, "I really enjoy the scenes I had with Red in Season 3. So I'm hoping we have a chance to work together again. Artistically, that's very fulfilling for both of us, I believe, so there's that. But I approach it like it's a blank canvass."
Kate Mulgrew, on the other hand, thought that Red just used Healy for her personal intentions. She said to Entertainment Weekly, "But then our throats tighten as we watch her snuggling up to Healy over a tea tray and we blink in a kind-of disbelief as we begin to form the (by now) uncomfortably clear impression that she is flirting with Healy, and that she is using all of her albeit rusty wiles to seduce him. Dear God, we ask ourselves, why?"
