Captain America: Civil War is under way and according to actress Jaimie Alexander, it will contain some kind of a connection with the upcoming Thor: Ragnarok film. A first look at the sequel's footage is also expected as Marvel attends D23 in August. Meanwhile, actor Martin Freeman has revealed details about his character in the movie.
While a lot of the heroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe are expected to make an appearance in the upcoming Captain America: Civil War, it had been previously revealed that the god of Asgard, Thor, will not be in it. But despite Thor's absence, actress Jaimie Alexander revealed to LA Times that a connection will be established between Civil War and Ragnarok.
"Yeah, there's a lot of great stuff they've peppered in through "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," "The Avengers," "Captain" will have some stuff. There's just all kind of Easter eggs and hints, if you're really paying attention. They're so good at interweaving everything throughout those films." she said.
However, when asked for more details, Alexander admitted that she does not know much as of the moment saying," Marvel, I think on purpose, they don't tell me certain things. Because they know I'll be like, "So here's what's gonna happen." But I do know I will be in "Thor 3″ and that Sif will have a very pivotal part in that movie. I just can't tell you what because I'll get shot."
Although details are still scarce as of now, a first look at the film is expected in August during Disney's D23 to be held in Anaheim. Although they did not attend the recent Comic Con, the first time since 2011, Marvel is expected to attend Disney's Expo, along with Lucasfilm who will probably talk about Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Meanwhile, Martin Freeman, who will soon be making an appearance in the MCU revealed details about his character saying that it is somewhere between black and white.
"He works for the American government. He works in conjunction with the superheroes, and certain agencies that help to tame the superheroes' power, I suppose. So you're not quite sure which side he's on. It looks a little bit like he's playing one game when actually he's playing another.
It's the kind of character I like because it's ambiguous and because you don't know whether he's good or bad. I like that area that isn't black or white, I like the grays, because I think there's just more fun to be had in not playing one obvious line," Freeman said.
Captain America: Civil War will feature the return of Chris Evans for the titular role, along with Paul Rudd's Ant-Man, Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye, Robert Downey Jr's Iron Man, Scarlett Johansson's Black Widow, and Tom Holland's Spider-Man. It is directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, and has been slated for release on May 06, 2016.
