Smart watches are known to be the next big thing in technology but is also known to literally flatten your wallet due to its ridiculously high prices. Google's and ASUS' is also a good example, but the ZenWatch took a complete turn that made the tech timepiece industry shake for a bit.
Tech authority website GadgetsNDTV confirmed that the ZenWatch cut its price by as much as $70 on Google Play. The once high priced smart watch is now available at only $129 apiece which is miles and mountains below than the Cupertino-based IT giant is offering. Also, aside from the price cut, Google and ASUS' ZenWatch just got an upgrade, operating wise. It is now equipped with Google's Android 5.1.1 which brings new features for the users and soon to be owners.
In addition, AndroidCentral, echoed Gadget's report and made it even sweeter for buyers, the $129 price also includes shipping fees. The tech website also said that ASUS announced that they will be launching soon the ZenWatch 2, which makes more sense why the sudden price cut for the older smartwatch. Neither ASUS nor Google has confirmed any dates on the launching of the ZenWatch 2.
For those who are not familiar with the ZenWatch, it was formally launched at the 2014 IFA. The smartwatch, unlike its other kind, has a rectangular display with curved corners. It also features a 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass 3 screen, according to TechnoBuffalo. The ZenWatch runs on Snapdragon 400 processor and equipped with a 1.4Wh battery.
