Dota 2 Latest News: Valve releases Trove Carafe, Lockless Luckvase Immortal Chests with 'extra rare' item; $17M at stake for TI5 this Aug 3-8

Dota 2 acclaimed game developer, Valve, has recently released two new immortal chests for the insanely popular game where each of these offers fans a fair chance to score at least one 'very rarer or 'extra rare' cosmetic item. Meanwhile, The International 5th annual tournament kicks off on Monday, August 3 and culminates on August 8th where a total of $17M prize is at stake.

IGN reports that these two immortal chests for Dota 2 are called the Trove Carafe and Lockless Luckvase. Gamers can get the chance to grab gold-colored versions of normal treasures in 'extra rare' item or 'very rare' item from each chest.

However, players need to shell out $4 USD for regular version and $5 for a special version which has a digital autograph from famous Dota 2 personalities. To those who don't want to avail of this offer, they can opt to destroy it.

On the other hand, The International is on for its 5th annual tournament on August 3-8 which will be held at the Key Arena in Seattle, Washington. According to Bleach Report, a total of 14 teams and two wild cards are invited for this event, namely:

Via Dota2.com is a detailed breakdown of the format which are the following: 16 teams play in a double elimination format over six days; Eight teams begin in the upper bracket; eight in the lower bracket; and First lower bracket game is best of one, Grand Finals are best of five, and all others are best of three.

The matches start at 1 p.m. ET and each match will commence following the end of the other. Fans who won't be personally attending the said event can watch the live streaming of the tournament via Steam Broadcasting on the game's official website or tune into YouTube or Twitch channels.

The total prize pool at stake for Dota 2's The International 5th Annual Tournament is well over $17 million which sets a breaking record for any electronic sports event.
