Recently, the new GTX 980 Ti received multiple complaints because the graphics card owners were reportedly unable to reserve a copy of Windows 10. The company appears to consider the OS 'won't work' with NVIDIA's latest graphics card.
PCWorld reported a situation where they found out that they couldn't reserve an upgrade with a rig featuring the GTX 980 Ti when they tried it. Furthermore, they also found out that the graphics card was considered to be not well-matched with Windows 10 from their Check your PC option. Since 980 Ti is one of the cards that supports DirectX 12.1 and has support for the OS with NVIDIA's 353.30 driver, this issue really becomes petty awkward.
It seems that the issue was caused from the relative freshness of both the card itself as well as the latest Microsoft Operating System. The error message that popped up reads "this PC can't run Windows 10," because "it doesn't meet system requirements."
The owners of GTX 980 Ti are naturally high end users who always prefer to keep updated even in terms of their operating systems running on their computer. Thus, this issue becomes even more disappointing.
Nevertheless, there was a quick message from an Nvidia employee on Twitter which tells the 980 Ti owners would have a great experience with the card and Microsoft's Windows 10, @killyourfm @BradChacos Advisor issue. Long story short, 980 Ti owners will have no prob on 7/29 & have an incredible Win10 experience.
As for its specs, the GTX 980 Ti is reportedly equipped with GM200 Maxwell core, and 2,816 stream processors. In addition, the device includes six graphics processing clusters and 24 streaming multiprocessors. GTX 980 Ti boasts 8 billion transistors and a 601mm2 die too. The GTX 980 Ti's stock and boost clocks of 1,000MHz and 1,075MHz.
On the other hand, Nvidia's barnstorming Titan X has 12GB of GDDR5 RAM, while the GTX 980 Ti only deals with partial that amount. Therefore, it indicates that GTX 980 Ti left behind to the more lavish Titan X: memory. It's still clocked to the same speed of 1,753MHz that is still abundant for most cards don't even have close to 6GB, let alone double that number.
In terms of pricing, a report from wccftech stated that the GTX 980 Ti has the confirmed retail price at $799.
