Nick Diaz will serve jail time for DUI. He was able to reduce his sentence by having a plea deal. His offenses were made last 2013 and 2014.
According to MMA Fighting, Diaz will only serve one day behind bars for both the DUI offenses he made years ago. He made a plea deal with the prosecutors that he will no longer contest the DUI with an alcohol or drug level above .08. But n exchange, the state will drop the three charges against the UFC fighter, including the second DUI.
Apart from spending a short time in prison, the controversial UFC fighter will have to attend DUI education course. This has been shared by LidTime.
As reported by Fox Sports, Diaz is going to surrender to authorities by the end of month. With regard to his career, he will have to face the Nevada State Athletic Commission soon. This is in relation to the positive drug test result after his fight with Anderson Silva early this year.
This is not the first time that Diaz failed a drug test. The most recent one was the fighter's third time. Because of repeating the same offence, there is a high probability that he will receive a grave suspension from the Nevada State Athletic Commission. This assumption is according to Diaz' lawyer, Lucas Middlebrook.
Last May, Middlebrook was quite positive that the case can be easily settled. However, they have discovered that a similar case was declined by the commission. It is likely that Diaz' legal team will present the case by next month or September.
Nick Diaz has been losing his recent fights and shared his frustration over it. He said that while he is not unhappy with the results of his fight, he is also tired of losing the games.
