Latest information leaks reveal that the upcoming Samsung S6 Edge+ will be running a 4GB of RAM and powered by an Exynos 7420 chipset.
The soon-to-be-launched, more powerful version of the S6 Edge, Samsung S6 Edge+ is rumored to be packing a much higher armory of specs sometime this August. Softpedia reported that a scoop coming from Vietnam claims that Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ will pack the same chipset inside the Galaxy Note 5, Exynos 7420. Also, the octa-core processor will be paired with no less than 4GB of RAM under its hood.
Prior to this update, there has been some disagreement over the processor that will power the upcoming the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+. There were some reports claiming that the Galaxy S6 Edge+ will run on the Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset, while others are suggesting that Samsung could choose its own Exynos 7420 chipset to avoid Snapdragon's overheating issues.
Meanwhile, MNR Daily reports that the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus has already received certification from the FCC, indicating its imminent launch. According to previous reports, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will feature either a 5.5 or a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 2560 x 1440 resolution. This upcoming handset will also sport a 16MP rear camera, along with an 8MP front cam. Lastly, the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will have a 32GB of non-expandable internal storage, MNR Daily says.
With these aforementioned upgraded features of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+, its battery pack is expected to be bigger than its predecessor. Fone Arena reported that the battery capacity of the phone is said to be 3000 mAh. This is certainly bigger than the original S6 Edge but critics doubt if it is big enough to power a 5.7″ 1440p Super AMOLED display.
Galaxy S6 edge+, together with Samsung Galaxy Note 5 are expected to be officially unveiled on August 12, and they are likely to be made available on the market on August 21, Softpedia claims.
