The Voice has yet again produced a fine champion after Sawyer Fredericks wins season 8 of the popular TV show.
Sawyer Fredericks was only 15 years old when he first stepped on stage of The Voice season 8, come 16 he is now the newest champion but apparently he doesn't plan on moving to L.A anytime soon to pursue his singing career, instead, he wants to take a break a go back to the farm where he grew up. Fredericks originally comes from a small town in Upstate New York where he lived with his parents and two siblings. There, they lived on an 88-acre farm.
The young singer had already put an album out before he started The Voice and it was his videos on YouTube that helped him get an audition on the show. Apparently none of his original songs on his album made it to The Voice, but it was when the show discovered his amazing talent on YouTube which got him an invitation to the blind auditions and made him the 8th champion of the show.
Fredericks made all four judges turn during his audition on The Voice but it was Pharell Williams whom he chose to be his mentor and coach to join him along his journey. Pharell joined the panel of judges on The Voice in September 2014 and has expressed how proud and happy he is of the new champ who was the youngest contestant of the season.
Pharell also stated how much he loves the show as "they get to break the rules and do all sorts of things." He was amazed at Fredericks performance during the finale with 70 year old John Fogerty seeing that Fredericks is so young.
In a recent interview Fredericks said that he is ready to record with Pharell but wants to take some time out first to spend with his family. He also mentioned that he misses working on their farm and being able to live the peaceful life back home.
Fredericks fans can expect a lot from the young singer in the months to come as Pharell has said he is looking forward to producing music with the artisit and helping him kick of his career.
