Rise of the Tomb Raider Updates: Deal issues between Square Enix, Microsoft may have fans' disapproval

By

Rise of the Tomb Raider is a well-anticipated game that looks to pave its way to the hearts of the loyal fans since the series' emerging. However, Square Enix somewhat ambushed the fans' expectations as to which platforms the game will be on.

Square Enix CEO of the Americas and Europe, Phil Rogers, has declared recently that he had could have foretold the fans' dismay with the news regarding Microsoft and Square Enix. IGN reported that Mr. Rogers was quoted on the heavy thinking that the company had to undergo in order to come up with this conclusion.

As per Mr. Rogers, "I hope fans know that it wasn't an easy decision. I think any sort of partnership at this level is a decision that took a long time for us to get to. The decision at a studio level, we took very, very seriously. We knew it would, in the short-term, disappoint fans."

Gamespot wrote that Mr. Rogers explained how Microsoft has been there with Square Enix for a while already. It was also the mark of the moment when Square Enix claims to have witness the so-called amazing passion that Microsoft has for Rise of the Tomb Raider.

Mr. Rogers further elaborated, "Having been working with us on previous games in a lesser sense, they've been supportive. However, for Rise of the Tomb Raider, they've just brought this passion and belief that has really enabled us to blow people away. People should feel that about Microsoft. Their commitment to Tomb Raider is just amazing for us."

According to Windows central, Mr. Rogers added and stated, "To see Tomb Raider showcased with Halo, Forza and Gears and see Tomb Raider there, it's amazing for us. It becomes the most important thing. We're about growing our IP, this is a long-term decision." He plans to take Tomb Raider up to the next level and furthermore, looking at Microsoft's belief, concrete passion and strength, he thinks that it will be an awesome game that people will keep on cherishing for the next number of years..

The verdict that the company has come to right now, may not be appealing to the fans of the game, as it may cause less excitement for console owners to actually even avail of Rise of The Tomb Raider. Dismayed and perhaps uninterested, will the fans still tolerate the version of the saga which may perhaps be the best one so far?

The PC version of the game was confirmed by Square Enix to be out early 2016 while Rise of the Tomb Raider Xbox One and Xbox 360 versions will be available on November 10, 2015.
