'Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials' has released its second trailer. It reveals new exciting challenges for Thomas and the rest of the Gladers to conquer in the dystopian world setting.
It seems that band of Gladers will have more than Janson a.k.a. Rat-Man to worry about. According to High Snobiety, the second official trailer revealed more to the story line than the first trailer showed last May. Dylan O' Brien, who plays the main protagonist Thomas in the series, is set for bigger challenges in the sequel as teased in the new footage.
The next chapter in the 'Maze Runner' franchise focuses on the adventures of the Gladers as they escape from the experimental Maze and into a brand new desolate dystopian landscape called the Scorch filled with inescapable obstacles and terrifying villains. They search for clues concerning World In Catastrophe: Killzone Experiment Department (WCKD), a powerful organization originally created to find a cure for a man-made disease called The Flare.
According to Slash Film, the first few scenes in the second trailer tease more than a few spoilers on what to expect in 'Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials'. It revealed that the characters would have to deal with a brand new set of problems such as a highly lethal virus and its victims, and not just the mysterious Janson played by Aidan Gillen.
Movie Web reported that director Wes Ball's latest masterpiece chronicles the Gladers' fight for survival amidst uncovering WCKD's diabolical plan for them all. It reveals the kick off of Phase Two in the desert wasteland of the Scorch where there are no rules - a good contrast from its 2014 predecessor's grassy yet deadly glade.
'Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials' is an upcoming live-action adaptation of the 'Maze Runner' young adult book series to be released on September 18, 2015. It stars old faces and newcomers including O'Brien, Gillen, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Ki Hong Lee, Rosa Salazar and Kaya Scodelario among others.
