There are plenty of reasons to love ABC's "Modern Family." The top-notch sitcom, nominations, is about to enter its seventh season this September with exciting story arcs. Still, fans of the show still have to wait for over a month so we listed down some online speculations for the next season based on season 6's final events.
Alex struggles in college
Last season saw Alex Dunphy, played by Ariel Winter, graduate from high school with plans of entering college. Alex has always been a very hard working student and will surely do her best to excel in college as well. But life in the academe may not be easy for the genius of the Dunphy family. She might even experience new struggles as she balances her studies, her relationship with her family, and her possible love life.
Winter told Gold Derby that she is happy with Alex's character development throughout the six-season run of "Modern Family."
"I feel really honored that they're entrusting me with that kind of leverage on the show," Winter said. She then added, "It's really amazing. They've written me so many amazing storylines."
Hayley and Andy may finally happen
Hayley and Andy became a huge tease last season. Their will they-won't they relationship is adorable but can cause hurt as well especially to their fans who have been hoping for the pair to become officially together. Julie Bowen even said to Variety that her in-laws "are in love" with Sarah Hyland and Adam Devine's characters. Maybe the two will finally find the courage and the right moment to admit what they truly feel for each other in season 7.
Mitch and Cam to get a divorce?
Eric Stonestreet's Cam and Jesse Tyler Ferguson's Mitchell is one of the funniest couple on TV. They complement each other in the best way possible that's why many are in love with their relationship. However, there are speculations that the Mitch and Cam story arc may be the cause of a huge drama in season 7 as they go through a rough patch. But other predictions claim that Mitch and Cam will finally decide to have a new baby.
"Modern Family" recently snagged multiple Emmy nominations, proving that they are one of the strongest shows under ABC. The upcoming season of the hit sitcom looks promising already, with a scheduled premiere on September 23.
