“Pirates of the Caribbean 5” Update: Johnny Depp to quit franchise after 5th installment? Actors who could take over the eponymous role revealed

By

Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow has been one of the main reasons why the "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise garnered a solid fan-base. However, what shall happen in the franchise should the lead Pirate take his leave? On another matter, Disney has been exploring which pirate myth they could be including in the film's storyline. Could Poseidon, the king of the seas finally make his presence known to the nomads of the sea?

Disney Studios ought to be gearing up to face a huge game changing predicament for their "Pirates of the Caribbean" franchise. Based on the rumor mill acquired by Youth Health Mag, Johnny Depp could be quitting the rum and hanging his pirate hat once and for all as the curtain draws for "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tell No Tales."

This basically entails the studios to scramble in search for a more compelling storyline and a worthy successor for the eponymous role, especially since a sixth installment is already being considered. They basically have the option to either kill off the character or have someone else take over it. But how can the former option be viable when the Pirate franchise subtly expressed that there is a high chance for Captain Jack to be immortal?

Should the studio make the choice to tap another actor for the witty and charismatic mantle, they can opt to have Jim Carrey who was previously considered for the role alongside Depp. Robert Downey Jr. could be someone who could pull off the role but then his name is already iconic enough, being Iron Man-the forerunner for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There's also "Downtown Abbey's" Dan Stevens who is charismatic enough. However, his too proper and clean demeanor could give audiences a different impression over the role.

There is no confirmation yet for Johnny Depp to take his leave from the franchise. However, without a doubt, the studio is careful enough not to make a movie that falls short from its predecessor's standards. "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man Tell No Tales" is sure to hit theaters on July 7, 2017.
