One of Leonardo di Caprio's latest movies is 'El Chapo' which features the story of Mexican drug kingpin El Chapo Guzman. The actor will not play the lead character but the role of a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent.
The 40-year old Leonardo di Caprio is eyed by director Ridley Scott to portray the role of Art Keller, a DEA agent in the upcoming movie 'El Chapo". Latin Times reports that Di Caprio will run after the Mexican drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman which is based on a true story. The movie will be adapted from Don Winslow's novel "The Cartel". El Chapo heads the Sinaloa Cartel.
Latina reports that the said novel which was just released in June, tells the fictional story of El Chapo's escape from jail. Coincidentally, just recently, El Chapo has indeed escaped from prison.
There is no information yet as to who will play the 60-year old El Chapo. El Chapo is said to be a short and chubby man from La Tuna, Mexico.
Meanwhile, besides acting, Leonardo di Caprio is busy with his advocacy as an environmental activist. In fact, just recently, Daily Mail reports that the actor received an award from the Prince of Monaco for his works in protecting the Earth. Sporting a long hair that he tied and a moustache, Di Caprio picked up his award in Monte Carlo while he was hosting his second yearly fundraiser for the Leonardo de Caprio Foundation in the South of France where he was able to raise $40 million. Prince Albert II handed him the Mediation Division Award for his serious efforts for "sustainable development against global warming".
With "El Chapo" and a number of movies in tow, Leonardo di Caprio does not forget to give back to Earth through his environmental conservation projects despite being questioned by some.
