Expect something epic from Natasha Lyonne's Nicky Nichol in 'Orange Is The New Black' ('OITNB') season 4. While the previous season has left her in trouble being moved to maximum security ward, actress reveal that it was just necessary for her character's plans in the upcoming season.
Actress Natasha Lyonne, who had been quiet about her character Nicky Nichols in 'OINTB', spilled the bins for the upcoming season. She told reporters at the 2015 Television Critics Association press tour that she has "a great deal of solidarity with the cast of 'Game of Thrones'" -- the HBO series has become notorious for killing off characters in an instant.
When the 'OITNB' star spoke to E! News, she revealed some information to look forward to in Season 4.
"I was excited [about Nicky's Season 3 story]," Lyonne said. "We have an incredible puppet master in Jenji and there's a great deal of trust that I have in that. I'm pretty much a person who is up for adventure and I thought it was wise to have there be a big consequence for Nicky's playing around with heroin. It can't all be fingering and cookies all the time. There's going to be hell to pay at a certain point for playing with her personal fire."
International Business Times notes that Nicky might not be the one responsible for the heroin found under Lushek's desk. But no matter what, Lyonne said that it was necessary for her character to be moved into the maximum security ward.
Zap2it reports that being inside the max would make Lyonne's character either better or worse. "I guess it could really go both ways. People respond in all kinds of ways ... that kind of discipline sometimes brings out the best in people and sometimes brings out that much more anger and rebellion. I think it cuts both ways for people," says Lyonne. "At a certain point, Nicky would have to come to terms with her childhood and reconciling her past if she's going to make peace with being an adult."
During season 3, Nichols was taken to maximum security at Litchfield Prison for three episodes, after she was accused of stashing a bag of drugs under correctional officer Joel Luschek's desk.
