Naruto Shippuden is back with another filler episode for this week. Entitled The Ones who will Inherit, Naruto Shippuden episode 422 will bring us to happier times in Konoha where Naruto will be training Konohamaru his way of being a Ninja.

Last week, the series raised the intensity for the season as Naruto Shippuden episode 421 finally revealed to its fans the secrets of the Sage of Six Paths. In the episode, Naruto, after having very nearly escaped death, is transported in some other dimension where the series protagonist comes face to face with Hagoromo Otsutsuki (otherwise known as the Sage of Six Paths).

The News Hub reports that episode 421 revealed to us the shocking truth behind the reincarnation cycles of the sages. Hagoromo tells Naruto that Naruto is in fact the reincarnation of his last son, Ashura. On the other hand, it was also revealed that Naruto's close friend Sasuke is the reincarnation of Ashura's brother Indra. These revelations hint the inevitable for Naruto: to fight against Sasuke. However, Hagoromo's wish is to break this cycle, thus encouraging Naruto not to follow the path which the previous generations (Hashirama Senju and Uchiha Madara) took.

Aside from Naruto's meeting with the Sage of Six Paths, other very exciting things also happened during the episode. Guy gets back to facing Madara in Naruto Shippuden episode 421 and it gets pretty intense as Madara, who previously seemed to have been knocked out terribly by Guy, rises again. The Fandom Post remarks on Guy's determination and resolution for this episode as his fight scene with Madara seems to be quite the highlight for episode 421.

If the previous episodes were quite intense, Naruto Shippuden Episode 422 is shown to be yet another filler episode as Naruto trains Konohamaru and teaches him how to perfect Naruto's signature jutsu, the Kage Bunshin Jutsu. In the episode, Naruto will also be focusing in training the other younger generations of Konoha in hopes that they will become dependable ninjas of their village.

Naruto Shippuden episode 422 is set to premiere this August 6.
