Filming for Marvel's Doctor Strange is soon to begin and actor Benedict Cumberbatch is exerting lots of his efforts into preparing his body and mind for the role. Casting for the movie continues as a female lead role for the movie was confirmed to have been offered to actress Rachel McAdams.
MCU's mystic side will soon be explored with the upcoming Doctor Strange, and Benedict Cumberbatch is set to play the titular role. Realty Today wrote. Cumberbatch is reportedly working on having his body bulk up by having larger intake of calories, several protein shakes, and working out with a personal trainer.
Aside from preparing his body, Cumberbatch has also been meditating a lot. According to The Wall Street Journal via Project Casting, the actor is reportedly a big fan of the said practice, "I meditate a lot... I took a lot of stuff away from my experience in Darjeeling, West Bengal, right at the Nepali border.
It was Tibetan Buddhist monks in a converted Nepali house in India, with a view of Bhutan. It was a profoundly formative experience at a very young age. It's something I've tried to keep in my life," he said. He also added that he's looking forward to working with the people from Marvel.
But aside from Cumberbatch, reports suggest that we might also be seeing True Detective star, Rachel McAdams in the movie. The actress has confirmed that an offer was given to her by Marvel for a female lead role, but also clarified that she thinks its still quite early to decide on the matter saying, "That's sort of super early days and I don't know where that's gonna go, if it's gonna go anywhere at all".
However, according to Movie Pilot, McAdams might have another character in mind that she wants to play. A tweet was posted by Amy Kaufman from the LA Times about McAdams' full response about Marvel's offer.
The tweet quoted McAdams saying, "That's sort of super early days and I don't know where that's gonna go, if it's gonna go anywhere at all. I'm certainly not a comic book snob. I really enjoy them and reading them, I think the Doctor Strange franchise is really interesting and Benedict is amazing. And I love graphic novels. I love that they are coming to light. I always wanted to make "Black Orchid." It's a tough one. But the fact that Doctor Strange is happening makes me think there's hope for more Neil Geiman out there."
The character of Black Orchid that McAdams mention is a superhero whose abilities include super strength, flight, and near-invulnerability. She was also featured in DC's Suicide Squad and Justic League Dark.
Filming for Doctor Strange is set to begin on November this year in Pinewood-Shepperton Studios in UK. More updates about the movie are expected to be released in the coming months. Doctor Strange is set to hit theaters on November 04,2016.
