Zoolander 2 will soon hit theaters and a trailer for the upcoming movie has been released. Popular celebrities are set to appear in the movie, like in the first movie. However, things have changed for Derek and Hansel as they are no longer as popular as they used to be.
Zoolander 2 is in the works and will soon hit theaters early next year. A trailer has been recently released for the movie reminding the fans that even with the years, Derek has never changed.
According to Cnet, the trailer begins with a voice that resembles that of Stephen Hawking's talking about how incredible the human brain is, being able to reason and ponder on life's riddles. Derek later appears in the screen asking one of life's biggest question, "If God exists, then why did he make ugly people?" It might not be the biggest and most important life question after all, but it sure does remind the franchise' fans that even after all these years, Derek is still dumb.
According to Comingsoon.net, the upcoming movie will reportedly center on Derek and Hansel, 10 years after the ending of the first movie. With age, the duo have become irrelevant in the industry they used to be in. According to Ben Stiller, some of the scenes in the movie were filmed in Europe,
"It's ten years later and most of it is set in Europe. It's basically Derek and Hansel ten years later - though the last movie ended on a happy note a lot of things have happened in the meantime. Their lives have changed and they're not really relevant anymore. It's a new world for them." Stiller previously said.
The movie was reportedly filmed in Rome for 12 weeks. As reported by Sydney Morning Herald , its cast includes Stiller as Derek, Owen Wilson as Hansel, Will Ferrell as Mugatu, Christine Taylor as Matilda Jeffries, and Bill Zane. It also reportedly includes Penelope Cruz, Kristen Wiig, Fred Armisen, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, and Mika.
The trailer is reportedly just one of their other promotional activity as they also made a surprise appearance in the Valentino Fashion Show in Paris Last March. Zoolander 2 is directed by Ben Stiller and written by Justin Theroux. It is set to hit theaters in February 12, 2016.
