After sixteen years, rapper and record producer Dr. Dre is set to release his latest solo album which was inspired from his and other rapper's life. The album will feature Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Snoop Dogg and Ice Cube.
NEW ALBUM
Dr Dre announced during his show on Apple's Beats 1 radio station last weekend that his new album "Compton a Soundtrack by Dr Dre" will be available this coming Friday exclusively on Apple Music and iTunes. M Live reports that the rapper took his inspiration while filming "Straight Outta Compton" a biopic about him and other N.W.A. (Niggaz Wit Attitudes) members Ice Cube, MC Ren, DJ Yella and Eazy-E, which will be shown on August 14. N.W.A. became a controversial rap group in the late 80s.
FEATURED ARTISTS
Other rappers have also collaborated in some of the album's songs. One of them is Eminem who will be featured in the song "Medicine Man" with Anderson Paak and Candace Pillay. Snoop Dogg is also featured in "One Shot Kill".
Other artists who will make up the album are Kendrick Lamar for "Genocide" along with Pillay and Marsha Ambrosius, and Ice Cube.
The Independent reports that Dr Dre's new album will have 16 tracks and will be different from the Detox Album which did not push through due to the reason that the rapper did not like its outcome. One of the songs though that was released from the said album was 2012's "I Need a Doctor" which also features Eminem.
Forbes reports that "Compton" is Dr. Dre's third album and might be his final. During his announcement, Dr. Dre called his album as a grand finale. It was in 2001 when he had his last solo album.
Among Dr. Dre's songs that became famous include "The Next Episode", "No Diggity", "In Da Club" where he has also collaborated with Eminem, Snoop Dogg and other artists.
