The upcoming installment, Gears of War 4, is now on its way to the market with nothing other than great news. Xbox and The Coalition are looking to please fans with more than just the hype, but with also the latest in the game's system, as well as the additional features in which the next gen consoles are most involved with.
As announced by Xbox, in alliance with The Coalition, fans that are to purchase the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition or the Xbox One Gears of War: Ultimate Edition Bundle, will be given the privilege to unlock the Gears Collection through the Xbox One Backward Compatibility. Gamers must play the game through August 31 2015 all the way to December 31, 2015.
By doing so, they will be able to acquire Gears of War, Gears of War 2, Gears of War 3 and Gears of War: Judgment in Backward Compatibility as the game launches by fall of the year. It was also mentioned that in the Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, the original game will have a refurbished version, containing outstanding graphics for the next generation hardware, reformulated cinematics, and new gameplay mechanics.
There will also be brand new maps, modes and missions to go with it, together with a challenging level, new achievements and more, for that amazing Xbox experience for any Gears of War aficionado.
Back in E3 2015, it was remembered that Gears of War 4 displayed an eerie game demo that caught all the attention. As reported by Game Spot, The Coalition explained that the game's story was supposed to be conveyed in the said display.Studio head Rod Fergusson further clarified that Gears of War 4 is to have a much more intimate, personal, and morally ambiguous narrative compared to the previous titles of the series.
Fergusson iterated that they are looking to take the game's orientation back to the original Gears of War. He explained that Gears of War basically was comprised of the horror, and disappeared along Gears of War 3. The Coalition aims to resurrect the sense of mystery, as well as the chill of things going bump in the night, as stated by Fergusson on a recent report by IGN.
"We're going back to something personal, intimate, dark, and mysterious, being afraid of the boogeyman." Fergusson said, and was quoted, "Back in the day, people expected stories to be black and white, there's good and bad. Today, people want a lot of grey, a lot of moral ambiguity, things that are open to interpretation about what's right and wrong."
With all the surrounding mysteries in Gears of War, one of the more questionable facts is the release date. As of the moment, Gears of War 4 is scheduled to be released on the holidays of 2016.
