The Affair season 2 will be welcoming a new cast member as Brooke Lyons recently signed up for a recurring role in the series. Lyons will be appearing in three episodes in season 2 and will act as threat to Allison Bailey and Noah Solloway's relationship.
The Wrap has reported that Brooke Lyons' character will be the publicist of Noah Solloway (Dominic West) in season 2. It has been hinted that Solloway, who is a struggling novelist and schoolteacher, will be growing attached to his publicist named Eden which will eventually create even more of a strain in his relationship with Allison Bailey (Ruth Wilson).
The Affair season 1 already hinted an impending end for the couple's affair and it seems like Brooke Lyons' character would be a crucial catalyst to the further development of Noah and Allison's relationship in the Affair season 2. In addition, it has also been revealed that in season 2, the storyline's points of view will veer away from the main couple and will instead start focusing on their actual spouses: Noah's wife Helen (Maura Tierney) and Allison's husband Cole (Joshua Jackson).
Speaking of Joshua Jackson, it seems that his character Cole will be in for a love interest in season 2. TV reported that Catalina Sandino Moreno will be signing up for a role in The Affair season 2 as the character Luisa who is from Ecuador and is an illegal immigrant who works part time in order to pay for schooling. However, it is unclear yet as to how Cole will eventually cross paths with Luisa in season 2, but the possibilities are present considering how the new season will include his perspective on things.
Despite changes in the points of view of the storyline for "The Affair season 2," Huffington Post says that fans will still catch Noah and Allison as season 2 will be using a dual perspective of sorts for its plotline. The story for season 2 will showcase not only the main couple's, but their significant others as well which will create even more tension and drama for the series.
The Affair season 2 will be premiering this October on Showtime.
