The software giant Microsoft seems to be planning to release two devices Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL later this year. The handsets are reported to be the one of the first smartphones to run Windows 10.
The Verge reported that Leaked images of Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL handsets have already started circulating online. Based on the leak images, it appears that Microsoft is set to launch the Lumia 950 in 5.2-inch and the Lumia 950 XL in 5.7-inch on its event in late September or October. In addition, it is said to feature support for Microsoft's Surface Pen technology as well as a new circular cut out smart cover that intends for easy access to notifications.
Furthermore, The 5.7in Lumia 950 XL was reported for having just a similar size with Samsung's Galaxy Note 4 and a shade larger than the iPhone 6 Plus. The slashgear also added that it will come equipped with 1440 x 2560 OLED screen and a 3300mAh battery that is user-switchable. The device was also claimed to include an iris scanner, slashgear wrote.
On the hand, the regular 5.2in Lumia 950 will reportedly sport a USB Type-C connector. This feature was stated for being fast becoming standard in the industry for the mobile gadget latest generation. This feature also gives hope that one day a universal charger will be created for all of the devices.
Slashgear also mentioned that the smaller variety of Microsoft 5.2in Lumia 950 will be featuring a 1440 x 2560 OLED screen, with a user-removable 3,000mAh battery. The site additionally provided information that the forthcoming 950 and 950 XL are predicted to come in black or white polycarbonate finishes. In terms of its camera, both Lumia handsets will reportedly boast a 20-megapixel PureView camera, with the XL benefitting from a triple LED flash, the verge reported.
As more of its specifications, Snapdragon 64-bit hexacore processors were reported to give power for both Lumia handsets, 808 in the 950 and 810 in the 950 XL along with 32GB and 3GB of RAM of on-board storage. Also, it will reportedly include a microSD slot and Qi wireless charging support (with an add-on cover on the 950 and integrated in the 950 XL).
In September or October this year, both Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL, which have the Codenames Talkman and Cityman, respectively, are anticipated to be officially announced.
