The Android Stagefright Hack virus can news created a stir in the Android community, considering that it will and can affect a total of 950 million android phones. Luckily, service providers and Android were quick to act in order to prevent the spread of the virus.

One of the first service providers to act is Sprint. The company confirmed that the Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for the Galaxy Note 4 is now equipped with a Stagefright fix, Yibada reported.

The update will need at least 615.69 MB and it has the software versionN910VPU4COG5. It will also include a patch for Stagefright.

AndroidPolice also pointed out that the update will post a changelog for the Samsung Note 4 once the update is through. The log will read as follows, Android version 5.1.1, Lollipop OS Upgrade, Message Waiting Indicator fix, Security fix (Stagefright), and Misc. bug fixes. This changelog will mean that the update was successful.

The Android Stagefright hack, according to Forbes, will only need a single text message in order to hack a total of 950 million Android users. Stagefright will basically open the door for hackers to get inside the phone to possibly acquire sensitive data from the internal and external memory and operate the phone remotely.

One of the scariest things about the hack is its ability to be untraceable and invisible at the same time. Once the hackers are inside, they can erase all traces of the hack and stay inside the phone, incognito, and do the hacking without the owner's idea that they are in fact using a Trojan phone.

The report also confirmed that Stagefright can also affect a phone's Bluetooth's connectivity that is another easy way to transfer data from phone to phone.

Nonetheless, Sprint's Android 5.1.1 Lollipop update for the Galaxy Note 4 is indeed a good news which only shows that the dreaded Stagefright hack is not so scary at all.
