With the aim to stop slut-shaming and sexual violence, hip hop model Amber Rose is heading a slutwalk in L.A. Nicki Minaj is among those who showed support by donating $5000.

The "Amber Rose Slut Walk" is scheduled on October 3 at the Pershing Square from noon to 5 o'clock in the afternoon. Laist reports that women are encouraged to join the said march for empowerment.

Amber Rose herself experienced slut-shaming which is why she has organized the event. Rose was shamed by Khloe Kardashian for having stripped at the age 15, in response to Rose's critic of Tyga, 25, dating a young 17 year old Kylie Jenner. Kanye West, whom Rose dated before Kim Kardashian, said in an interview how he had to take 30 showers before going with Kim saying it is very hard for a woman to go out with someone who has been with Rose.

Rose, who also poses in revealing outfits, says she faces slut-shaming almost everyday even in social media. Other girls are also being victimized which is why there is a need for a protest. She also plans to have it in Miami, Chicago and New York in the years to come.

Nicki Minaj has shown her support for the cause by donating $5000. Hot New Hip Hop reports, Rose is hoping to raise $45,000 for the activity and now has garnered about $30,000 from donations. The fund will be used for sexual awareness booths, HIV testing and other activities as well as for Rose's foundation that will go to organizations and women who have been victimized by sexual violations.

The slut walk started in Toronto in 2011 when a police officer told a group of college female students to avoid dressing like sluts if they do not want to be sexually assaulted. According to Ebony, the march was attended by 3000 people wherein some dressed liked sluts. Other countries have also done the same walk.

Amber Rose's slut walk is not just for women battling different kinds of harassment. The march also calls for gender equality.
