It has been reported that Leonardo Dicaprio is suffering from a flea infestation, but close friends of the actor say it's not true. Despite the flea infestation rumors, many are betting that he could bag an Emmy award if the film wins Best Documentary or Nonfiction Special.

Rumors have been spreading all over the tabloids and the online world that an unnamed girl said that she freaked out when she met Leonardo DiCaprio, and not because he is a big star. She actually said that she saw fleas in his beard.

According to Gossipcop, The National Enquirer is running a story of an unidentified girl who freaked out when she spotted a flea hovering on DiCaprio's quite bushy beard. The actor grew out a massive beard for his upcoming movie "The Revenant", in which will portray the life story of an 1820s frontiersman. A so called friend of the movie star told the tabloid that DiCaprio's famous friends like Tobey Maguire and Kevin Connolly persistently make fun and jokes about his alleged flea infestation.

"Leo's being a good sport about it, but it's starting to, bug him now," said the source who's friends with the actor. The magazine's alleged source also added, "Everyone's begging him to have the beard professionally washed every day, and a few of us have picked him up some flea powder."

Meanwhile, after all of the flea infestation rumors and absurd reports flooding around the Internet about the Award- winning actor, he's not really bothered about them. What he's been up to lately is to score an Emmy award for "Virunga".

As reported by GoldDerby, Dicaprio is the executive producer of the film. He wasn't planning to receive an Oscar when the film competed for Best Documentary Feature. However, the TV academy has more expansive rules so he could take home an Emmy if the film wins Best Documentary or Nonfiction Special.

Now the renowned actor also produces projects and in that capability, he lent his support to "Virunga." According to IMDb, it is a documentary which shows the efforts to save mountain gorillas in a protected area of the Congo, but the documentary had lost the Oscar to "Citizenfour".

But recently, headlines show effort to make "Virunga" the kind of film voters will assemble behind. The latest boiling of Cecil the Lion in Zimbabwe by an American dentist has sparked widespread fury and brought renewed awareness of the wildlife conservation in Africa.

With that, fans and advocates of wildlife preservation have been rooting for Leonardo Dicaprio to win an Emmy for "Virunga". And surely, fans won't be startled again when they see Dicaprio's beard because rumors of fleas clinging on his beard were confirmed to be false after all.
