Danny Boyle's "Steve Jobs" film is closing The 59th BFI London Film Festival. The director's latest movie which stars Michael Fassbender, has been picked to bring down the curtain on the 12 day celebration of cinema on October 18.

Following "Fury" and "Saving Mr. Banks," as recent closers, Danny Boyle, Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet will be on the Leicester Square red carpet to attend the closing night gala screening. It marks the film's European premiere.

Boyle said: "If London was the cradle of the Industrial Revolution then San Francisco is the Bethlehem of the digital one. We had a brilliant time making this movie in Silicon Valley and I hope Londoners will enjoy a behind-the-scenes look into the making of the modern world."

BFI London Film Festival director Clare Stewart commented: "We are thrilled to announce that Steve Jobs will be this year's closing night gala. Danny Boyle has created an exhilarating and audacious film [about] the complex, charismatic digital pioneer."

"Steve Jobs," is the highly anticipated movie starring Michael Fassbender. It was written by Aaron Sorkin and based on Walter Isaacson's biography of Jobs. It follows the 2013 movie "Jobs," starring Ashton Kutcher, which was critically berated.

The film focuses on three major events in the lifespan of his career, and in Apple's growth: the creation of the Macintosh in 1984, NeXT in 1988 and the iMac launch in 1998. Michael Fassbender plays Steve Jobs, the pioneering founder of Apple, with Academy Award winning actress Kate Winslet starring as Joanna Hoffman, former marketing chief of Macintosh. Steve Wozniak, who co-founded Apple, is played by Seth Rogen, and Jeff Daniels stars as former Apple CEO John Sculley.

The film also stars Katherine Waterston as Chrisann Brennan, Jobs' ex-girlfriend, and Michael Stuhlbarg as Andy Hertzfeld, one of the original members of the Apple Macintosh development team. The producers are Mark Gordon, Guymon Casady of Film 360, Scott Rudin, Boyle and Academy Award winner Christian Colson.

"Steve Jobs" will open in the U.S. in October and will be coming in the UK in November 13.
