The Dark Knight Rises Shooter James Holmes will spend the rest of his life in jail

James Holmes, 27, who shot 12 people dead in a movie theater at Aurora, Colorado has been convicted guilty with a crime of first-degree murder. The said crime took place during a midnight premiere of The Dark Knight Rises last July 20, 2012.

According to Entertainment Online, James Holmes had pleaded guilty with insanity but nonetheless still convicted with 165 counts that also includes 24 counts of first-degree murder as it was 2 counts per victim.

James Holmes has reportedly killed 12 people and wounded 70 people at his expense. Thus, the motion has been concluded and his parents' testified and plead for mercy; but still, James Holmes was sentenced to be in jail for the rest of his life.

Judge Carlos Samour was the one who read the jury's decision by which they were unable to come out with a unanimous decision regarding James Holmes's case to have the death penalty in effect. Instead, he will be spending the rest of his life in prison without parole, Variety US shared.

In lieu with the case, a panel of nine women and three had rejected James Holmes's plea of insanity at first hand. Moreover, James Holmes had already spared himself from lethal injection though a lot of showcased protests of the family members have been moved to motion as they begin filling out the courtroom even before the jury finish the reading, The Daily Mail UK shared.

Furthermore, having been saved from death penalty, the jury felt really sorry for the victims' families. The decision might not been able to convince the other families but the jury have already decided thus hoping for the justice to be served awaits them and victims who died.

Other plans from the families of the victims are not yet disclosed, whether they will fight back to have the necessary death penalty charges against James Holmes pursue is yet to be planned and presented to the jury.
