The sensates will be back for another season as Netflix finally gave "Sense8" season 2 a go. More speculations for the beloved characters poured online following the much-awaited renewal and of these is the possibility of meeting other gifted clusters.
One of the most popular fan theories for the sophomore season is the sensates meeting new extraordinary characters and connecting with them as well. Movie Pilot noted that the first eight sensates that the fans met in "Sense8" season 1 could possibly look for other clusters that they could protect and train in season 2 now that they are accustomed to their capabilities.
Movie Pilot also predicted that there will be more Whispers-sensates interaction next season even though the eight protagonists managed to escape from him in the first season.
Netflix recently announced the series' renewal one month after the Television Critics Association panel of the show, where J. Michael Straczynski said that they are "cautiously optimistic" that "Sense8" will get renewed. The Verge reported that green-lighting the second season took an unusually long time, which caused the fans to think that the Internet streaming giant won't renew the show.
The good news was spread out through a video message posted on Twitter and Facebook featuring the series's stars Aml Ameen, Jaymie Clayton, and Doona Bae. They all sang "Happy Birthday" before announcing that they are indeed coming back for another season.
We previously reported that Netflix is really taking their time and considering some things before renewing an ambitious show like "Sense8," which caused the delay. Though it is now certain that season 2 is underway, its official release date was not announced. There was no confirmation as well if the show will get more seasons in the future.
Fans of the Netflix sci-fi series can now breathe a sigh of relief following the show's renewal. Plot theories include the sensates meeting more extraordinary humans and becoming their mentors.
