RHOBH Alum Kim Richards Not Locked Up After Shoplifting Arrest [+VIDEO]

"Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" Alum Kim Richards is not hospitalized opposing to the first reports that she had been hospitalized after her family forced her to be locked up. The news comes after she had been arrested for shoplifting last week in Target L.A. branch.

An insider close to the former child star told Entertainment Online that the 50-year-old had not been confined to a hospital. In fact she could be found roaming in Los Angeles.

"Regardless of what is going on with her medically and mentally," the source said, "she is not currently locked up."

The news that the reality TV star has been hospitalized was first reported by UsWeekly. The magazine claimed that according to their multiple sources, the troubled star was admitted to a hospital for her own safety and welfare after she allegedly fallen back into old habits.

"Sometimes family does know best. Kim Richards, who was arrested on Sunday, Aug. 2, for allegedly shoplifting from a Target in L.A's San Fernando Valley, has been admitted to a hospital by concerned family members," the site reported.

Richards was taken into custody at Van Nuys Target store after she was caught stealing 100 items worth over $600 dollars. She spent Sunday night in jail and was released on $5,000 bail paid by sister Kyle Richards and half-sister of Kathy Hilton, according to Daily Mail. The "Hello, Harry" actress pleaded not guilty to the offense and is due to appear in court on Aug. 20.

Back in April, Richards was arrested for battery, public intoxication, and resisting arrest after getting into trouble with police at the Beverly Hills Hotel. An expert psychotherapist Dr. Robi Ludwig told ET on Wednesday that the actress is probably trying to self-medicate a depression.

Last month, Richards revealed that she's facing trouble with sobriety and admitted relapsed during her daughter's wedding. She confessed she loves sobriety. Relapsing was very hard for her. She wanted to go treatment because she needed a break from what she's going through at home.
