After the epic ending of The Vampire Diaries Season 6 finale, fans are expecting something big this upcoming season. The Vampire Diaries Season 7 will show a different dimension of Damon (Ian Somerhalder).
According to IB Times (International Business Times), Malachai 'Kai' Parker (Chris Wood) casts a sleeping spell on Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev) which will last for 60 years! The sleeping curse will only break when Bonnie dies.
The fate of Damon's love interest made him totally depressed. However, despite of Elena being cursed this won't keep Damon waiting for that long. He won't be celibating for that long.
On the contrary, Damon won't wait for Elena to wake up. He will try to discover who he is when not being involved in a relationship. The soul-searching goes on for him but this does not mean he will move on from Elena.
In addition, the vampire returns into his former reckless self which will lead him to a new intimate relationship with Bonnie (Kat Graham) as sources like Zap2it reports. Bonnie will only be Damon's scapegoat, a past time lover while Elena is still cursed.
Moreover, Deadline reports that there will be new characters on the upcoming season. 'The heretic witch vampires' Plec introduces Nora, Valeria, and Mary Louise. Executive producer Julie Plec also reveals that the following girls will make Caroline Dries's (Candice Accola) life miserable.
Plec also stated Caroline and Stefan will be together again. In addition, Alaric becomes psychic after indulging in alcohol to overcome his depression. Moreover, Alaric will also be engaged with psychics and a whole lot of booze. There will also be a point in his life where he looks for witches who try to contact the dead.
