Ben Affleck, despite of his image being in turmoil this year, is still one of the key actors in the "Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice" as the new Caped Crusader--and many DC Comic fans were not happy with his casting.
However, Affleck gained not only thumbs up but also a standing ovation from the heads of Warner Bros., the studio behind the film, after watching "Batman V. Superman: Dawn Of Justice," according to Inquisitr.
In fact, Warner Bros. is allowing the actor to write and direct his own Batman standalone films. The better news is fans might be looking into another Batman trilogy, not including his appearances in the upcoming "Justice League" films.
"Basically, Warners are now working on its movie universe around Ben's Batman," Den of Geek's sources said. Moreover, the WB heads are also considering Affleck as the "definitive Batman."
After "Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice" and "Suicide Squad" hit the cinemas, "Wonder Woman" and "Aquaman" are set to become the next frontliners, report say. If the box office reception of the current Batman film, rumors said that Affleck's possible trilogy might become the centrepiece of the DC Cinematic Universe.
Other than his DC movie, Affleck also has two projects with WB, namely, "The Accountant" and "Live by Night."
However, "The Accountant" was moved to January 29, 2016 while his directorial work on "Live by Night" was pushed to October 7, 2016, as reported by Variety. The reception for the possible trilogy for the director of the Oscar Best Picture "Argo" is mostly positive.
"Looks like @BenAffleck will silence the #BATFLECK doubters in @BatmanvSuperman," said King Cole in his Twitter handle.
As for the worldwide audience, "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" is set to premiere on March 25, 2016.
